    In short

    How does switching accountants work?

Switching accountants is straightforward and can happen at any time of year. Your new accountant sends a professional clearance letter to your old accountant asking for the information needed to take over, such as previous accounts and tax returns. You authorise the new accountant with HMRC, and they take over your filings. You usually just need to tell your old accountant you're leaving, in line with any notice period in their engagement letter.
