    In short

    What is a business plan?

A business plan is a written document that explains what a business does, who its customers are, how it will make money and what funding it needs. Lenders and investors focus on the financial forecasts, usually a profit and loss forecast, a cash flow forecast and sometimes a balance sheet, covering 12 months to 3 years. A strong business plan shows realistic assumptions and how any loan will be repaid.
