Freelancer Pricing FAQs

How much does an accountant cost for a freelancer?

Freelancers working as sole traders pay £30 to £65 a month plus VAT. Freelancers with a limited company pay £75 to £150 a month plus VAT.

Should I freelance as a sole trader or a limited company?

A sole trader is simpler and cheaper to run. A company can save tax as profits grow. We'll compare both using your figures before you decide.

What happens if I move from sole trader to a company?

Our formation service is free, with the Companies House fee passed on at cost. We confirm your new monthly fee in writing and file a final sole trader return for the period before the switch.

Do overseas clients cost more?

No. Advice on VAT for overseas clients is included. Your fee depends on your tier, not on where your clients are.

I earn through Upwork or Fiverr. Is that included?

Yes. Platform income is treated like any other freelance income and included in your tier.

Is the tax return included?

Yes. Sole traders get their Self Assessment included, and company freelancers get the director's return included.

Is there a minimum contract?

No. You pay monthly and can leave with 30 days' notice.

Can I switch accountants mid-year?

Yes. Switching is free, and we handle the handover.
