Online bookkeeping FAQs
How much does online bookkeeping cost?
Monthly bookkeeping is included in our Complete packages, from £65 a month plus VAT for sole traders and £150 for limited companies. Each extra 50 transactions a month is £25.
What counts as a transaction?
Each line on your bank, card or payment app statements is one transaction, such as a sale received, a supplier payment or a card purchase.
Which bookkeeping software do you use?
We work with Xero, QuickBooks, FreeAgent and Sage. You can keep your own software or we can supply it at the provider's price plus a small maintenance fee.
Do I need online bookkeeping for Making Tax Digital?
Making Tax Digital requires digital records kept in compatible software. Our online bookkeeping keeps your records ready for MTD for VAT and MTD for Income Tax.
How do I send receipts?
Snap a photo with your phone using your software's app, or forward receipts and invoices by email. They're matched to your bank transactions automatically.
How long must I keep business records?
Sole traders and partnerships must keep records for at least 5 years after the 31 January filing deadline. Limited companies must keep them for 6 years from the end of the accounting period.
Can you catch up months of missing bookkeeping?
Yes. We catch up missing months, reconcile everything and prepare you for VAT and year end. Catch-up work is priced as one-off work and agreed first.
What is the difference between bookkeeping and accounting?
Bookkeeping records your transactions day to day. Accounting uses those records to prepare accounts, tax returns and reports. We do both.
Will I see my profit every month?
Yes. We send a monthly summary of profit, cash and what you owe, and you can see live figures in your software any time.
Can I switch bookkeeper part way through the year?
Yes. We take over from any point, review your records and continue without disruption.
