South West accountant FAQs
Do I need an accountant based in the South West?
No. We work online with businesses across the South West, including Bristol, Exeter, Plymouth and Bournemouth. You share records digitally and speak to your accountant by phone, email or video, on weekdays until 8pm and on Saturday mornings.
I own a holiday let. How is it taxed now?
The special tax rules for furnished holiday lets were abolished from April 2025, so holiday lets are now generally taxed like other rental property. We'll prepare your rental accounts, explain how the changes affect your expenses and Capital Gains Tax, and file your tax return.
Can you help Bristol contractors with IR35?
Yes. We work with IT, aerospace and engineering contractors across Bristol, Gloucestershire and Wiltshire. We'll explain how IR35 affects you, help you choose the right way to work, and look after your limited company accounts, payroll and tax returns.
Does Making Tax Digital affect me?
If you're a sole trader or landlord with qualifying income over £50,000, Making Tax Digital for Income Tax applies from 6 April 2026, and the threshold falls to £30,000 from April 2027. We set up compatible software and submit your quarterly updates as part of your fixed fee.
Can I switch accountants partway through the year?
Yes. You can move to us at any time of year. We contact your current accountant, collect your records and take over your HMRC and Companies House authorisations, so nothing is missed.
What's included in the fixed fee?
Your fee is agreed before we start and covers the services in your package, including calls and emails with your accountant. You aren't charged by the hour, and anything outside your package is quoted up front.
